paddy field epic continues...

(paddy field at the roadside, not far from my home)

i guess this picture does not mean a lot to you,but in my family we talk about it nearly everyday and  especially the older generation always express their humbleness and sense of gratitude to this broad and wide food sources.as much as you know, in Malaysia, much of his citizen depends on rice as their main cuisines.

massive production of this grains increasing every single year and now this paddy plantation is heading it's own new era in ways of processing method and introducing new much more efficient technique to ensure peoples satisfaction.

when the older chats about the paddy quite often on how did they endured such pains and agony just to make a living for their family,we (the younger generation),talks back by saying those was 40-50 years ago grandpa,we do not talk that matters anymore now-days.yes we can say that and actually i did the same thing to them until few hours later, all my expectation and my opinion transformed by their epic.

while we are chatting and smoking, came this old lady and she sat next to fariz (my friend) without saying a word.she pointed her skinny finger towards a crappy old and messy shack in front of us.the old man who was we arguing just now began to smile cynically.below is this crappy old shack.(its gone already.had been teared up apart.)

(creepy old shack that had been demolished)

now she began to talk.backthen when her age was about 9,her parent seemed so eager to taught her how to start working at the field.there was no school,no future for her except to work like everybody else.paddy planting is listed to be her only option on those day and one more, rubber tapping.but tapping is not a truly option back in the days due to the uncertainty market price and much more.that was nothing to be compared when the next story came by.she start to unveil her hardships and pains working as a paddy planter 50 years ago and it's really struck us (the youngsters) hard.

'women was considered as a problem, and will burden their man if they don't work hard enough.'she says. through all that, she somehow manage to improvise her work and her task as a mother.she is a truly amazing woman for me.she added,"7 a.m had gone to the field already but the breakfast was already prepared, come back and hurrying before 11 a.m to cook lunch and go back to work before 2 p.m,and finish working at 6.30 p.m and for your information,my path to work is about 4 mile.'she smiled.

p/s-she's cool and seemed so calm.
